Support Teacher - Literacy and Numeracy

Here at Kenmore South State School we are very fortunate to have support teachers based at the school for 5 days a week.

The support teachers’ role is to work collaboratively with school teams and with students to improve student achievement. The support teacher works with the classroom teachers to effectively plan and implement support programs for identified students, to improve their learning outcomes, with a focus on Literacy and Numeracy.

The Support Teacher can assist class teachers by providing resources, working in the classroom alongside the class teacher, teach a small group or work with identified individuals and provide advice and support for teaching students with learning disabilities.

We can liaise with parents and be involved with team meetings to help establish productive partnerships and work collaboratively with other specialists such as Guidance Officers, Speech Language Pathologists, Advisory Visiting Teachers and other agencies outside the school to enhance the students’ learning.

Please contact the school if you wish to speak with any member of the team.
