The Kenmore South State School library is a modern, relaxed and welcoming place for students, staff and the Kenmore community to engage in reading and learning.
Completely renovated in 2011, our school library provides students with an inviting environment to read, research and relax. The library is equipped with an Interactive White Board for library lessons, as well as computers for student use throughout the day. There is a cosy reading corner for children to access at lunch time and a comfortable place for teachers to read to their classes. Teachers also have access to an extensive "Teacher Reference" room and a "C2C Resource" room within the main library. Our beautiful library "deck" is often used to host special events and guests at the school and has a lovely outlook across the trees to Mt Cootha.
Our wonderful Librarian, shares their love of books with the students during her library lessons. Using the Kenmore South State School Curriculum Framework as a guide, these lessons also focus on research and writing skills and the general functionality of the library. The librarian works tirelessly to promote important events in the library, such as National Reading Hour during Book Week celebrations and "Author Visits". They also regularly updates the beautiful displays within the library and manages the borrowing system.
The Kenmore South State School library is open daily. Students are welcome to use the library at first break during these days. We welcome you to visit our beautiful library during these times.
